Apostolic Revival Continues in Zimbabwe

11995 S. Monticello Terrace, Olathe, Kansas 66061

The glorious outpouring of revelation that began in June in the nation of Zimbabwe continues to spread across that country – and to other countries as well! Many pastors are accepting the truth of the Oneness of God and the necessity of Jesus’ Name baptism!

When the A2Z team left Zimbabwe in June, it was our intention to return the following June (2014) for an annual crusade. Recognizing the need for continued follow-up, however, Pastor Greg Riggen accepted the advice of his elders to start making immediate plans to return. The original intent was to go back in October for further training of those who had been baptized in June. It did not take long after the team’s arrival back home in the states, however, to realize that those plans would have to wait.

Shortly after arriving home, Pastor Riggen began receiving text messages and phone calls from the leaders among those he had baptized in June. They were telling him how this message was spreading like wildfire across their country, and that many other pastors were begging to know more. They told him that, if he would come back for another seminar, they felt quite confident that at least 100 pastors would be present to hear more about this doctrine.

After much counsel and prayer, it was decided that the October trip would, indeed, involve a second seminar on Apostolic Doctrine. A2Z would be represented by Elders John Burgess, Brian Jones, Daniel Stephens, Sam Howard, Greg Riggen, and Ngota Aston.

As word began to spread in Africa, the number of interested pastors grew exponentially. By the time it was all said and done, around 300 Trinitarian pastors and their wives from four different countries had committed to be present!

Once again, there were overwhelming moments in which it was obvious and apparent that revelation swept the crowd. The atmosphere was charged with the Word and Spirit of God, and the response from the crowd was explosive.

On the first day, traditional strongholds were torn down, and the truth was established. It was obvious and apparent that many in the crowd were hungry for truth. At the end of that day, the people flocked to the front to pray and seek God.

As the conference continued on the second day, God continued to move. Many of those present received the revelation of the Mighty God in Christ. That day, we circulated a list for those who wanted to be baptized in Jesus’ Name. When it was finished, more than 100 people had put their names on the list!

On the last day, a bishop over several churches asked to speak. He shared how he was friends with some of those converted in June. He said he had argued with them over the doctrine, and decided to come to the conference for the express purpose of proving the team from America wrong. He then went on to say that, as a result of what he had heard, he now knows this is the truth. He then asked if he could be the first to be baptized in Jesus’ name during this meeting. When he finished, a 77 year- old bishop, who oversees MANY works, and has put countless numbers of preachers into the ministry, raised his hand, stating that he wanted to be second. This man is the best friend of the founder of several Bible Colleges throughout Africa.

Among the others who were baptized was the wife of the Provincial director of the largest Trinitarian organization in Zimbabwe. The beauty of this is that this organization is how churches become “registered” in their country. Rather than the government registering individual churches, they authorize a few select organizations, and then require the churches to register with the organization. The June converts told us, “If we win these people, we have won Zimbabwe.” To see the name of the wife on the list is a MAJOR victory for the work!

The personal secretary to the President of the Country of Botswana was also among those who were buried in Jesus’ Name! In all, 102 pastors and their wives were baptized in the name of Jesus, and many received the gift of the Holy Ghost! (There was also one other person baptized — he was a musician who had been asked to play for the conference — making a total of 103 people baptized!)

It would be impossible to know the full extent of the impact this meeting has had upon the continent of Africa. With four different countries being represented (Zimbabwe, Botswana, Mozambique, and South Africa), PLUS at least one pastor from every province (the equivalent of our states) in Zimbabwe, the potential for revival is beyond comprehension. We have already received word of a group of 200 who will be baptized at the end of November. This group includes at least 19 bishops (men who are overseeing multiple churches).

In January, 2014, Pastor and Sister Riggen will be spending two weeks in Zimbabwe working with these newly-converted former Trinitarians. Their expenses will be great, and your help is needed.
